How I got my phone ringing and 250 clients to bid on the same house in one day!Really? No, not really, but it grabbed your attention didn’t it?  That’s right!  The point to my “white lie” is that having an attention grabbing headline is key to the open rate of anything anymore. 

How unfortunate that so much relies on this now.  How I got my phone ringing and 250 clients to bid on the same house in one day! sounds more like the informational that I do not doubt will be the next wave in marketing for real estate agents!

Whatever happened to the old fashioned prospecting and simply servicing their needs?  Not today!  Unfortunately today, it the “How I got my phone ringing and 250 clients to bid on the same house in one day!” headlines that entice the client to make the call or click on the link.

Headlines such as “I lost 20 lbs in one day” or “Look at me, I found the fountain of youth” are what make the phone ring these days.

So, I miss the days, where a computer was a luxury and not a neccesity. Where prospecting meant, greeting your customers at lunch or on the “landline – what’s that?” 

Where negotiating meant all parties sat around the dining room or kitchen table and handshakes were exchanged after a real ballpoint ink was used to sign the purchase agreement.

Real Estate sure has changed and though I miss the personal aspect of it, I will admit that it is nice to know that How I got my phone ringing and 250 clients to bid on the same house in one day! were true, I could actually manage it with my digital signature, my mobile cell phone and my “cloud” printer all while relaxing in the middle of the lake on my boat at the lakehouse.

However, I will remain true to being able to have the technical knowledge and the social media needed in today’s world while still being able to speak face to face with my clients.
